New HTC S740 Smarthpone To Hit European Markets By Next Month

HTC is all set to launch its Windows Mobile-based smartphone, dubbed S740 in the New HTC S740 Smarthpone To Hit European Markets By Next MonthEuropean market.

The slim, compact and stylish S740 comes packed with a classic 12-key numberpad together with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that offers flexibility in efficient messaging.
   
The S740 has inherited a lot of its design from the Touch Diamond, which consists of a glossy, black front.

Measuring 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm, the newcomer has a 3.2-megapixel camera, a 2.4in screen, support for A-GPS (Assisted Global Positioning System), and several email alternatives including POP3, IMAP and Exchange push email.

Moreover, the smartphone, which weighs 140 grams, also has a radio and built-in support for Google Maps, 256 MB flash; 256 MB RAM onboard memory, 802.11b/g WLAN, 2.0 Bluetooth with EDR and HTC ExtUSB interface that supports mini-USB and audio jack in one; USB 2.0 High-Speed.

Ensuring highest broadband capacities, the HTC S740 backs a maximum download speed of 7.2 Mbps. The operating system is Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, and data is stored on microSD cards. The users can also access the Internet via a Wi-Fi connection.

Powered by 1000 mAh battery, the phone also includes GPS/AGPS navigation, FM radio, Qualcomm MSM7225, 528 MHz chipset, and is compliant with GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as WCDMA/HSDPA network.

The HTC S740 smartphone is likely to hit market by next month (September 2008).
