Myles Kennedy grateful he got to play alongside Led Zeppelin

London, Jan 21 : American singer/songwriter Myles Kennedy of the Alter Bridge has revealed that he is grateful to have been given the chance to play alongside Led Zeppelin.

There were rumours that Kennedy had been chosen for vocals by the legendary group, after an audition was conducted to replace Robert Plant, who did not wish to make a comeback.

But when none of the singers for the audition worked out, the band decided to do away with the idea of a tour, revealed guitarist Jimmy Page''s manager, Peter Mensch.

Kennedy himself revealed that he did try out for a place in the group, and is disappointed not to have been included in any of their future plans, though he is happy he was able to join them for a jam session.

"I am not singing in Led Zeppelin or any offshoot of Led Zeppelin, but I did have a great opportunity and it was something that I''m very grateful for. But Alter Bridge will go on, and that''s that," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

"(It was) surreal. It was great. I''ll tell that story some day. But for now, it was a good experience, and I''m still pinching myself, let''s put it that way," he added. (ANI)
