Mumbai attackers have a price to pay: Sonia Gandhi

Congress Party President Sonia GandhiKochi, Dec 16 : Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi has lashed out at the Mumbai attackers, by saying that they would have to pay a price for their barbarism.

"There is a price to be paid for these barbaric attacks. Let nobody take us for granted and, let nobody underestimate our resolve to defeat these diabolic designs of these forces," said Gandhi at a Congress rally here on Monday.

This was Gandhi''s first public meeting after the party''s success in Assembly polls in three states.

She paid tributes to the slain National Security Guard (NSG) commando Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and other Security Force personnel who laid their lives fighting Mumbai attackers on November 26.

"I pay my grateful homage to the brave and courageous security personnel who laid down their lives in the service of our motherland. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a valiant son of Kerala and a valiant son of Mother India will be remembered by a grateful nation for generations to come," she said.

Sonia also congratulated ISRO scientists for their outstanding achievements and proudly said that India has shown the world their success with the Chandrayaan Moon Mission.

Defence Minister A K Antony, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Opposition Leader Oommen Chandy and a host of Congress leaders were present on the occasion. (ANI)
