Movie Review: Saas Bahu Aur Sensex!
It is always a delight to have a Farooq Sheikh film in the theaters and this time you can watch him in a film directed by Shona Urvashi, Anupama Chopra. The film reminds of daily soaps on television. The plot involves a single Bengali mother (Kirron Kher) and her daughter Nitya (Tanushree Dutta) shifting to a new Housing Society in Mumbai where Nitya meets Ritesh (Ankur Khanna) who helps her to get a job in a call centre.
Ritesh however is in love with Kirti (Masumeh) who is very ambitious and wants to marry a multimillionaire but at the same time keeps Ritesh as a stand by. The older generation is more interesting with Kirron Kher who decides to play her hand in the stock market and also encourages her kitty party members with Lilette Dubey, as usually ever charming to do so. It is here that she meets a Parsi stock Broker who helps her.
The Humor in the movie initially is quiet hilarious and entertaining but the rest of the film like the stock market is going sometimes to the bulls and sometimes to the bears. Although, the film does encourage the women to invest in the stock market but it is the hard luck of the director that the downfall of the stock market had to coincide with the release of the film. Looking at the bright side, the film does have a few entertaining moments.
