Miandad rejoined PCB on a hefty package of Rs.750, 000 per month

Miandad rejoined PCB on a hefty package of Rs.750, 000 per monthLahore, Apr. 2 : It was certainly financial issues because of which Javed Miandad quit Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director General's post, as it has been now revealed that Miandad has rejoined the PCB on a hefty package of 750,000 rupees per month.

Sources in the PCB have also confirmed the report, and charged Miandad of being associated with the board only for money.

"Miandad left the board in January this year because he wanted more money and privileges. This is not love for Pakistan cricket or the country. He always wanted to join the PCB for perks," The Daily Times quoted sources privy to the PCB, as saying.

The salary which Miandad would be receiving is much higher than anyone else in the board.

He would also be having all the additional powers which he had earlier asked for.

Earlier, the PCB chief Ijaz Butt had said that Miandad turned down the offer of Rs 500,000 and demanded Rs 1.6 million as salary.

"Miandad asked for a salary which we could not give to him. I regard him highly as a great cricketer but we can''t pay him more than what we had offered him," Butt said.

Butt had also charged Miandad of interfering in team selection procedures, as well as administrative matters of the apex cricket controlling body in the country.

However, Miandad rejected Butt's claims saying PCB is framing him falsely.

Miandad said he never asked for the amount of money which Butt had quoted.

"Money was not an issue and I never asked for the amount which Mr. Butt is talking about," he said.

Miandad added that he served the Board for two months without any pay, and would like to work on an honorary basis if the PCB officials give him enough room to perform his duties. (ANI)
