Majority wants Anna team to form party, surveyMost of the people taking part in a survey on the website of the `India Against Corruption' campaign led by Anna Hazare, have said that they want the team to take the form of a political party.

Anna Hazare had earlier indicated that he is not willing to fight for the cause through a political platform. He has said that he would announce a final decision on the matter soon after holding meetings with prominent citizens in the national capital, Delhi.

Anil Sharma, a member of Team Anna said that he does not wish to form a political party. The results of the survey expose a divide between the campaign leader Anna and his followers. The survey results that were published in the website of India Against Corruption showed that 76 per cent of the people want the movement to become a political party.

Out of the total, 7,37,041 votes casted through emails and SMS, as many as 5,61,071 said that they were in favour of the creation of a new political party. Only 1,75,340 voted against having a party, the results showed.

"We would inform him of the results when he arrives here on Tuesday to meet people from different walks of life. We would decide then as to what should be the most effective and workable form the political party should take", wrote Arvind Kejriwal, a leading member of the campaign.
