Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Launches Scorpio Automatic
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) launched a new version of Scorpio. It is the first ever sports utility vehicle (SUV) of India. It supports a fully automatic six-gear box and many new features. The automatic model of Scorpio supports Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) technology which controls gears.
The 2.2-Litre mHawk powerplant is provided for easy automatic operations. It is available in the VLX and the VLS variants. The ex-showroom price of VLX model is Rs 10.75 lakhs while price of the VLS model is fixed at Rs 10.24 lakhs.
The automatic models are aimed to address the complaints of the customers about inconvenience while driving in congested traffic conditions and frequent gear changes during high traffic hours. Various existing customers demanded automatic versions of some selected models of the company. The new model of Scorpio would provide comfortable and stress free drive experience.
The new model contains six speed transmission, features built-in intelligent drive modes and an anti-roll back mechanism to operate in drive mode.
The company has acquired the transmission technology and components from Australian firm, Drive train Systems International (DSI). The company is expecting good demand in automatic models of Scorpio.
