KGMOA Withdraws Strike For A Month
Kochi: The Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) has withdrawn its strike temporarily.
In an affidavit given to Kerala High Court, the representatives of association said the strike would be suspended for 4 weeks.
Senior advocate K. Radhakrishanan, appearing for the KGMOA submitted before a Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice H.L. Dattu and Justice K.M. Joseph that accepted the submission. It asked the Advocate-General to make the Health Minister and the Health Secretary to withdraw the suspension orders issued against some striking doctors.
The government should consider the doctor’s demands for pay revision, special pay and other demands.
The doctors went on strike from October 1 protesting against the non- implementation of the recommendations of a special committee that filed a report regarding doctors’ grievances.
