Johnson recalled to Oz squad for final ODIs

Melbourne, Jan. 19 : Fast bowler Mitchell Johnson is likely to play in the remaining three one-day matches against South Africa after being recalled to the Australian squad.

Johnson was rested from Australia''s two Twenty20 wins and the first two matches of the one-day series, which is currently locked 1-1, after his mammoth workload in Tests in India and the home series against New Zealand and South Africa.

According to Fox Sports, the left-armer returned to the squad of 13, which has him in line to play in the next three matches in Sydney (Friday), Adelaide (Monday) and Perth
(January 30).

Johnson''s return resulted in Queensland''s Ryan Harris, who made his debut in Sunday''s win in Hobart, being released from the squad.

Harris will be able to play in Wednesday''s Twenty20 preliminary final against Victoria at the Gabba.

Cricket Australia (CA) has ruled out releasing any other players from the national squad to play in either Wednesday''s match or Saturday''s Twenty20 final in Sydney.

That means Victoria will be without Cameron White and David Hussey and Queensland will be without James Hopes for Wednesday''s game, while NSW will not be allowed to call on Nathan Bracken, Nathan Hauritz, Brad Haddin or David Warner for the final. (ANI)
