ICL: Nail-Biting Finish For Heroes!
A disciplined bowling effort in the last overs of the 23rd match of the ICL20s Indian Championship ensured a 3 run win for Hyderabad Heroes over the Ahmedabad Rockets.
Rockets skipper Damien Martyn won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, the star-studded Heroes batting line-up posted 166 for six at the end of their allotted 20 overs. Heroes got to a bad start as it lost its opener Jimmy Maher(3) in the 3rd over. Shortly after losing Maher, Heroes lost Razzak for seven and Justin Kemp for four. It was Binny (48 off 32 balls) and Nicky Boje (47 off 30 balls) knocks which gave momentum to Heroes innings in the middle overs. In the slog overs, Heroes skipper Chris Harris (37 off 18 balls) took the charge and helped the team to post a challenging score for the team.
Rockets were off to a good start with Campbell and Goodwin adding a 50 run opening partnership till the 9th over. After losing both its openers and skipper Martyn, Rockets failed to maintain the momentum and the match slipped out of their hands in the end. In the last overs, Sodhi played a quick fire 41 runs off just 15 balls with 4 sixes and a boundary.
