Mobile manufacturers are trying to beat slowdown by launching more models with interesting features. Consumers were provided a glimpse by LG of its new flagship multimedia cell phone, dubbed as Arena on Sunday. It has been learnt that the set would make its debut at next week's Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona.
On Sunday, a well known paper put forward the latest piece of news that Microsoft Corp is mulling to provide new programs and services for mobile phones, including an “online bazaar” for software.
The report published in the paper said that the online bazaar would be for phones running Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system.
It said, “Microsoft will also soon offer its latest version of Windows Mobile, which the report said would have a more sophisticated interface.”
Indian Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), has received an order worth Rs 1672 crore from Bangalore Metro Rail Corp to supply 150 metro rail coaches by October 2010.
In addition, BEML is also likely to get an additional order for 63 Metro coaches for further expansion and extension of proposed Metro lines in the city. The value of order will be about Rs 600 crore.
It may be noted that Bangalore-based Company earlier won an order worth Rs 1365 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corp to supply rail coaches.
Hyundai, the second-biggest car maker in India by sales volume, has launched the all new Verna with luxurious interiors and improved exterior features to lure domestic customers.
The newly launched Verna range includes two petrol variants - 1.6 VTVT & 1.6 SX VTVT - and two diesel variants - 1.5 CRDi VGT & 1.5 SX CRDi VGT, which will be available with both - a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Parsvnath Hotels Ltd. a subsidiary of Parsvnath Developers Limited (PDL), India's leading real estate and Infrastructure Company, has received 5 star category project approval from Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for its hotel project, situated at Hyderabad.

Since the demand fell due to economic uncertainty and tight credit, there was a fall by 3.2 percent in January in the sales of cars in India, which marked the sixth drop in seven months.
On Monday, data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) displayed that 110,212 units in the month were sold by car makers, down from 113,894 sold a year earlier.
Sugato Sen, senior director at SIAM, reported, "The auto industry was going, to a large extent, due to the easy availability of credit. But now banks have significantly cut their exposure to auto loans."
