Putting an end to the uncertainty on the fate of the series, Sri Lanka, on Friday, decided to go ahead with its cricket tour of Pakistan to fill in for a cancelled Indian trip.
Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa discussed the issue with Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollgama, who recommended that the tour should advance as scheduled from January 20 to February 25.
The series will feature three Tests, as many ODIs and a Twenty20 match. It may be here recalled that due to Mumbai terror attacks, India called off its tour of Pakistan.
In order to maintain its lead in the market, leading direct-to-home (DTH) operator, Dish TV, owned by Essel group, has decided to add another 200 channels to its bouquet by next year.
At present, the company offers 225 plus channels to its viewers, and it plans to increase it to 400-450 by next year.
Speaking on this, Salil Kapoor (COO, Dish TV) said, “We have the largest content pipe. As of now we carry about 225-plus channels. Going ahead, within a year's time we plan to increase the number of channels to 400-450.”

The board of Satyam Computer Services would meet on December 29 to discuss the various issues including the fate of its independent director, Dr Mangalam Srinivasan and Chairman, Ramalinga Raju. Dr. Srinivasan and Mr. Raju are under pressure to quit their posts following the failed attempts to acquire Maytas firms. The Dean of Indian School of Business, Dr Mendu Rammohan Rao would also attend the proposed meet.
The advance tax collection of the country declined over 22 per cent for the third quarter of the current financial year. Tax collection was Rs 54,900 crore in the same period last year and it now stands at Rs 42,600 crore. The decline in the advance tax collection indicates the grim situation following the economic slowdown which may further worsen in the coming times. Now, the growth rate in direct tax collections for the first nine months stands at 12%. Government has set a target to achieve the tax growth rate of 15 per cent with net tax collection of Rs 3,65,000 crore for the current financial year.
