Shiv Kapur eyes Avantha Masters crown

Shiv-KapurNew Delhi, Feb 13 : India's Shiv Kapur has targeted an Indian double at the Avantha Masters after capturing his debut European Tour Challenge Tour title at the Gujarat Kensville Challenge.

A fortnight ago Kapur became the second home player, after the 2011 champion Gaganjeet Bhullar, to win the Kensville Challenge when he held off Scotland's Andrew McArthur by two strokes to take the _32,000 winner's cheque and, in the process, move to the top of the Challenge Tour Rankings.

Jeev to lead Indian field at Avantha Masters

Singh is India's most successful golfer, having accrued a total of four European Tour titles including last year's Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. He is also a two-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner.

3 new cases registered in CWG scam

CBIThe Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday registered three more cases against the wrongdoers in the controversial CWG scam. These cases were against eight government officials.

Six of them belonged to the New Delhi Municipal Corporation while the rest came from Central Public Works Department and private firms. All these people were allegedly involved in awarding illegal contracts during the games to private firms.

Bangkok, Feb 7 : Gaganjeet Bhullar gave Indian golf a great present right at the start of the year with a brilliant course record of eight-under 64 and winning the season-opening Asian Tour International by one shot Sunday at the Suwan Golf and Country Club.

Bhullar, who won his maiden Asian Tour title last year, began the day six shots behind and produced one of the best come-from-behind victories on the Tour. It was his second title of the career.
