After failing to finance the deal by a group of doctors, the North Oakland Medical Centers, one of the Oakland County’s oldest hospital, closed on Tuesday.
While speaking on this, John Graham, NOMC president and CEO, said, “We are very grateful for their devotion and we deeply regret that we have been forced to implement plans for closure, but we are committed to providing quality patient care and safety during this transition."
The hospital had already stopped admitting the new patients late last week, while the emergency center was closed on Tuesday morning.
Washington, Oct 30: New archaeological evidence has emerged that points to the existence of a sailor on a small tropical island in the Pacific in 1704, who is believed to have the inspiration behind Robinson Crusoe, author Daniel Defoe’s famous fictional character.
Alexander Selkirk, the sailor, was marooned on the island of Aguas Buenas (now renamed Robinson Crusoe Island), in 1704, and survived there for more than four years.
According to a report in Science Daily, archaeological evidence, in the form of a campsite of an early European occupant, has now been found to support contemporary records of the sailor’s existence on the island.

Washington, Oct 30: The NASA Messenger spacecraft, which is gliding over the surface of Mercury for the second time this year, has revealed previously unseen territory on the planet.
After completing a critical gravity assist to keep it on course to orbit Mercury in 2011, Messenger unveiled 30 percent of Mercury’s surface never before seen by a spacecraft.
