London, Nov 2 : Simon Cowell has confirmed that pop star Britney Spears will be performing on the ‘X Factor’ in two weeks’ time.

Cowell said that the ‘Toxic’ singer would be on show on November 15. 

“I’m really excited about it, because she’s got her act together now and the new record’s terrific,” News of the World quoted him, as saying.

“She’s come back from a very dark place and is a great artist,” he added. 

Pune, Nov 2 : Top seed Saina Nehwal, India''s badminton sensation, has entered into the finals of World Junior Badminton Championships in Pune today.

Nehwal will clash with ninth seed Sayaka Sato of Japan in the finals. 

She had no problems in quelling the challenge of third seed Shixian Wang and took just 37 minutes to sent packing the Chinese 22-20 21-12.

Nehwal is the first Indian to reach the World juniors final twice. 

Hangu (Pakistan), Nov 2 : The Pakistan’s unit of the Taliban, Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) is learnt to have stepped up their activities in the Upper Orakzai Agency, by abducting at least 10 people including government employees on Saturday.

The Taliban stopped a vehicle at Sarkas and abducted two elders of the Shaihkan tribe, Mir Saeed and Malik Nazeer, reported the Daily Times. 

In a second incident, a serving subedar Ilyas Khan was abducted along with his two sons and two gunmen from the Mushti area. 

Four men of the Ali Khel tribe were also kidnapped. 

London, Nov 2 : Two sisters in England have beaten the odds by giving birth to sons in the same hospital within 45 minutes of each other.

Louise Bedford, 29, was preparing to have a Caesarean section at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester when her sister, Lisa Reeve, 31, went into labor at home and was rushed to same hospital ward..

Shortly thereafter, Reeve gave birth to Jude, who weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces, while within the hour Bedford delivered Archie, who weighed in at 10 pounds.

Islamabad, Nov 2 : Former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif has said that the Pakistani government would lose public support if the US missile attacks on Pakistani soil continued.

In a written statement issued here last evening, he said that the government should initiate strategic dialogue with the United States instead of just protesting over the continued violations of the country’s territory by the US.

Islamabad, Nov 2 : Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the ongoing US’ air raids were “disastrous” in the eyes of the world, and that he would soon take up the matter with the US’ ambassador Anne Patterson.

Asking the world leaders to dissuade NATO and US forces from such incursions, Gilani said claimed that Afghan President Hamid Karzai had also assured him that he would take up the matter with NATO.
