Collision sets tanker on fire in Dubai port

Dubai - A gas tanker burst into flames after it collided with a container ship off the coast of Dubai on Tuesday, the Emirates News Agency WAM reported.

The ship, which the news agency identified as the "Kashmir," collided with a container ship about 5 kilometres from the Jabil Ali port, which is about 35 kilometres south-west of Dubai.

A spokesman for the Dubai ports authority DP World told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that the collision took place at 12:23 pm (0823 GMT). He said he was unable to confirm the name or the owners of either of the two ships involved.

Two crewmen were rescued from the water with light injuries, the spokesman said, and no one else was injured.

Croatian rescuers find airplane wreckage after six-day hunt

Zagreb mapZagreb - Croatian rescuers on Tuesday discovered the wreckage of a small passenger aircraft which disappeared in rugged terrain six days earlier.

The Cessna aircraft, thought to have had four instructors from a pilot school onboard, was flying from Zagreb to Zadar, some 220 kilometres south on the Adriatic Coast.

The people from the plane have not yet been found, the head of the Alpine rescue service, Zeljko Prizmic, told national television.

Georgia says two OSCE monitors detained by separatists

OSCE LogoMoscow/Tbilisi - Georgia's interior ministry said Tuesday that two European ceasefire monitors had been detained by South Ossetia militia on the border of the separatist region and Georgia.

A spokesman for the ministry, Shota Utiashvili, told news agency Interfax that the two monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) were detained near the Georgian- controlled village of Adziv and taken to the separatist capital Tskhinvali.
