Federal Agents Place 22 Accused Under Arrest in US Bribery Investigation

Federal agents recently arrested and charged some two dozen people in a sting operation investigation which was aimed at targeting the alleged bribery of foreign officials. The arrests were made at a trade gathering of arms-sector executive which recently happened in Las Vegas.

In order to undertake the operation, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation posed as representatives of a Senior Government Minister from an African country. The agent then proposed a scheme under the terms of which executives and employees from various companies would be paying 20% in "commissions" with the aim to win businesses. All details have been shared by the Justice Department.

As has been confirmed through the indictments released by a Federal judge on Tuesday, the business was posed to be a deal worth $15 Million to "outfit an African country's Presidential guard with pistols, tear-gas launchers, bullet-proof vests and other supplies".

As a result of the operation, 21 out of the 22 executives who had landed in Las Vegas, for the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show and Conference, were placed under arrest. One was arrested in Miami, as has been confirmed by the Justice Officials.

The targeted employees all work for firms in US, UK and Israel.
