EGoM meeting likely to be held on June 17

Murli DeoraThe meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) is likely to be held on 17th this June. They will decide on the fuel pricing in the country. In that particular meeting, the ministers will take a decision on the petrol prices as it is under control of government and limited autonomy from oil firms.

Last week only, Union Petroleum Minister Mr. Murli Deora had provided information on such meeting. He had also indicated that there will be a hike in the price of petrol due to international pressure and rise in crude oil price.

There will be decision over cooking gas (LPG) rates in this meeting as well. It has been anticipated that there will be a hike of Rs 25 per cylinder for the LPG all over the country.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is the head of this Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM). As per sources, there may be a rise of Rs 3.35 per litre in price of petrol. There has been a hike in international oil price which is expected to influence the domestic fuel price.
