Dubai-based contractor to construct Wynn Resorts’ UAE casino resort
Wynn Resorts Limited, an American publicly traded developer & operator of high-end hotel-casinos, has announced that the construction of its casino complex project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been entrusted to Dubai-headquartered ALEC Engineering & Contracting LLC.
The American hotel-casino giant also confirmed that preparatory works for the casino complex project has already started on the site. Bauer International FZE, a Germany-based company with specialization in foundation works, has been contracted for performing piling and enabling works for the gambling-friendly property. Bauer has also started construction preparations on the project site.
The hotel-casino site is located on Al Marjan Island, a group of four coral-shaped islands in an artificial archipelago that is located in the UAE’s Al Jazirah Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah Emirate. The beautiful man-made island, which is administered by the Al Marjan Island Company, has cautiously been selected for the ambitious casino complex project as the scenic location will help a lot in attracting foreign tourists.
The paradise, Nevada-based hotel-casino developer will be an equity partner to the aforementioned Middle-East companies and operator of the IR. The Al Khaimah project will eventually be named ‘Wynn Resort,’ as per available information.
The development scheduled for the UAE casino complex project is in line with the company’s earlier announcement. Addressing investors and reporters at the Q4 2022 earnings call, Wynn Resorts’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Craig Billings informed that the operator was in the final stages of programming the hotel-casino complex in the Middle-East.
At the time, Billings announced, “I expect we will be driving piles for the foundation of the property by the middle of the year.” According to the company’s latest announcement, it has come to the point.
Set to open in 2027, the $ 2 billion Ras Al Khaimah IR will include a number of entertainment options, including a state-of-the-art gaming space equipped with slot machines and gaming tables. A source familiar with the project revealed the upcoming IR will include a hotel offering more than 1,000 rooms, a high-end shopping mall, an up to date meeting & convention facility, an elite spa, around a dozen restaurants and lounges, numerous entertainment options, and other amenities.
Wynn Resorts, the parent firm of Macau’s casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd, will thus get its portfolio inflated with the addition of another brick-&-mortar facility in the UAE. The American developer’s Macau portfolio also includes Encore at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace.
