Diabetes Care Program Launched In Goa

In order to bring the health care to the doorstep of the common people, the Goa Diabetes Care Program Launched In Goagovernment signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Novo Nordisk Education Foundation, Bangalore on Diabetes Care Programme on Thursday.

At the time of signing the MoU on Diabetes Care Programme, the Health Minister of the state government Vishwajeet Rane was also present.

While lecturing on the occasion, Rane said, “Diabetes is a major health hazard in the country affecting young and old. Goa has a alarming proportion of Diabetes patients.”

The minister also said that to combat diabetes in the rural areas, the state government initiated many steps with the help of private sectors and the Anganwadi workers. The programme will be co-ordinated jointly by the Directorate of Health Services and Goa Medical College (GMC).

The occasion also witnessed the presence of various eminent personalities like- Dr. V.N. Jindal, Dean, GMC, Dr. Rajan Kuncolienkar, Medical Supritendent,GMC, Dr. (Smt.) Rajananda Desai, Health Services, Senior Officials of GMC, Director of Health Services and Representatives of Foundation.
