Dacia Spring, Europe’s cheapest EV, boasts numerous enhancements

The new battery-powered Dacia Spring has set a new standard in the field of affordable electric vehicles (EVs), as the redesigned 2024 model of the vehicle has surfaced with a host of enhancements while maintaining its budget friendly appeal to eco-conscious consumers.

Redefining expectations in the EV market, the Dacia Spring costs approximately the same as a similar-sized ICE-powered city car. In fact, it becomes even cheaper than similar conventional gas-powered cars when government incentives are factored in. Though, with the new model’s enhancements, the Dacia Spring is expected to attract consumers with more than just an affordable price.

The new Dacia Spring is almost the same EV underneath, with roots tracing back to the Renault Kwid that is sold in India. However, the redesigned 2024 model boasts a fresh face, with the new design making it more modern in looks, aligning it with other EVs of the brand.

The redesigned Spring EV retains two-tier headlight clusters, and with its refreshed LED daytime running lights, which flow into the faux grille, it looks as if it has a full-width light bar. The basic shape of the car remains almost unchanged when we look it from the side, while the rear fascia has undergone a complete redesign.

Inside, the changes are more noticeable. The dashboard is entirely new, and the old part-analog gauge cluster is no more there as it has been replaced by a seven-inch display. The Extreme variant of the EV boasts a ten-inch display that looks giant in the car narrow cabin. Running on Android Automotive-based operating system (OS), it supports wireless Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. New colors, such as the Brick Red and Beige Safari, further enhances its visual appeal.

Trunk space has been increased to 10.9 cu. ft. (approx. 308 liters), which can further be expanded to 35.5 cu. Ft. (approx. 1,004 liters) by folding the rear seat. Interestingly, despite its small size, it has a frunk, offering an additional space of 1.2 cu. Ft. (35 liters).

The redesigned Dacia Spring exemplifies innovation within the reach of common people. With its new design, enhanced interior comfort and improved performance, the Dacia Spring not only offers an appealing offering but also reaffirms the manufacturer’s commitment to providing accessible electric mobility without making any compromise on quality and performance. To sum up, the 2024 Dacia Spring illustrates how affordability intersects with improvement in the EV landscape.
