London  - Manchester City completed the signing of midfielder Nigel De Jong from Hamburg on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract after passing a medical.

City agreed a fee of 16 million pounds (22 million dollars) for the Holland international earlier in the week.

He will be available to make his debut in the Premier League against Newcastle next Wednesday. dpa
