Himalya International inks pact with US-based grocery chain

Himalya International LtdHimachal Pradesh-based Himalya International has signed an agreement with US-based grocery chain ALDI to sell its products under "Himalya Fresh" brand name in America.

Under the arrangement, ALDI grocery stores would sell Himalya Fresh products like frozen vegetables, baby potatoes and breaded appetisers through 1,000 retail stores across the US, company Chairman Manmohan Malik said in a statement here.

The company is expecting exports to the US to grow by 60% and touch USD 10 million during the current financial year.

NTPC to form Joint Venture Company with NPCIL

State-run power producer National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) has informed that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting has approved the proposal for initiating discussion with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL) for entering into an MOU for formation of Joint Venture Company for setting up a Nuclear Power Project.

In the said proposed Joint Venture Company, NTPC would hold 49 per cent of the stake while the balance 51 per cent would be held by NPCIL.

The company would raise up to Rs 4,500 crore from domestic as well as international markets for meeting its expansion plans in the current financial year. The power producer plans to build 2,000 MW nuclear capacity by the year 2017.

Hero Honda inks partnership deal with Andhra Bank

Hero Honda MotorsHero Honda Motors, the country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has signed an agreement with Andhra Bank to offer financing support for buyers of their products.

Hero Honda and Andhra Bank have teamed up to support two-wheeler buyers, including in the rural parts of the State.

The company claims that buyers can avail themselves of loan up to 90 per cent of the road price of the vehicles. The tie-up is particularly aimed at those in the farm sector, salaried employees and institutional customers.

Sun TV Rolls Out Its FM Station At Siliguri

 Sun TV Rolls Out Its FM Station At Siliguri Sun TV Network, promoted by Kalanidhi Maran, set up its FM Radio Station at Siliguri of West Bengal under the brand 'S FM' from 28 October through its subsidiary South Asia FM Ltd.

The listeners of Siliguri can tune to the station at 93.5 MHz frequency.

The South Indian company believes that the programs of the station will cater to the needs of all age groups.

With this, the total number of operational FM Stations of Sun TV has gone up to 43. The company holds licenses for 45 FM radio stations across India.

TiVo and Netflix join hands to deliver movies

TiVo and Netflix join hands to deliver movies In order to link the television sets with online entertainment, Netflix Inc and TiVo has decided to team up to deliver movies from a Netflix Internet service to TiVo digital-video recorders.

The service is expected to be available in early December.

There will be no extra charge for TiVo subscribers, who also have one of Netflix’s unlimited subscription plans, which start at $8.99 a month. However, the two companies have not disclosed the terms of the deal.

V-Guard postponed its plans to setup two amusement parks V-Guard, one of the leading electrical and electronic appliances group, has postponed its plans to set up two water theme amusement parks with an aggregate investment of up to Rs 1,200 crore because of land acquisition problems.

The group has shelved its plans of setting up parks near Panvel in Navi Mumbai, following the phenomenal rise of land prices at the proposed site.
