Leyland-Nissan LCV Plant In Chennai

The Ashok Leyland and Nissan project will be operational soon. The project started the first step after signing the MoU with the TN government. A land of 380 acres would be acquired to set up the facility.

It will be set up at Pillaipakkam which is located 40 KM away from Chennai. The MoU was signed between the state's industries secretary MF Farooqui, R Seshasayee and Andy Palmer.

The chief minister of Tamil Nadu was also present on the occasion. The state government said that the set up of this project would increase the chances of employment in the state. The project is expected to give employment to around 4500 people directly and indirectly.

Tata Still Mum On Nano Issue

Tata motors would not resume the work at the project site in Singur. It has separated itself Tata Still Mum On Nano Issuefrom the between the West Bengal government and the Trinamool Congress. Tata is not satisfied with the agreement and it has objected to some clauses.

Tata is not in the favor of any intervention in the mother plant and the vendor park. It considers it as an integral part of the project and ruled out any possibility of relocation of acquired land. Tata also termed the text of the agreement as unclear.

Make-over for BMW 3 Series ready in September

The front of the saloon and touring models are characterised by an emphasis on width. The typical kidney grille is wider and the double circular headlights are underscored by chrome tubes. Taut surfaces and character lines dominate the side view. The contour edges of the side skirts have been set higher.

Spy shots of Audi R8 Spyder revealedNuerburgring, Germany - Spy shots of a convertible version of Audi's R8 super sports car that is expected to be launched at next year's Frankfurt Motor Show have been revealed.

The shots published by Germany's auto-motor-sport magazine show a convertible with matt, black paintwork and vinyl roof during a test run on the Nuerburgring racetrack.

The car is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2010 but it remains unclear whether it will called Spyder or Targa, the magazine reported.

Bugatti to build open-top version of Veyron

Bugatti VeyronPebble Beach, California - Bugatti will produce 150 open-top versions of the Veyron super car at a starting price of around around 1.66 million euros (2.44 million dollars).

Similar to the coupe version, the Veyron Grand Sport is powered by a 16-cylinder 736 kW/1001 hp engine with a top speed listed at 407 km/h.

But the top speed of the convertible can only be achieved when the top is closed. Open air drives have a maximum top speed of 360 km/h, the car maker said.
