BSE Sensex up by 928 points on Tuesday

Indian Stock markets closed on Tuesday with decent gains. BSE Sensex closed with a gain of 928 points at 16,217 while NSE Nifty was up by 267 points at 4877.

Market opened strong and continued to trade higher as buying continued in almost all sectors. The BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices were also strong in today’s session.

Reliance Capital was up by 17.6% at Rs 1328. JP Associates was trading strong as well. The stock ended 16.3 percent higher compared to Monday’s close. Reliance Energy gained nearly 13%.

Banking Stocks were also among major gainers. Corporation Bank, OBC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Syndicate Bank and Allahabad bank closed the day much higher compared to yesterday’s close.

ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank were among heavyweight banking stocks which ended the day higher.

Infosys Technologies was up by 9.63%. Satyam Computers, Mastek Limited, Wipro and Polaris closed the day with decent gains as well.

Computer education company Aptech Limited was among major gainers. The stock closed with a gain of 22.5% at Rs 205.
Indiabulls was higher by 20%. IDFC gained over 9% to end the day at Rs 156.

Indian Stock markets have witnessed a strong buying in all sectors after a long time. If this relief rally continues for 2 – 3 trading sessions, it can help investors to gain confidence. Some stocks in mid-cap space have caused massive erosion of retail investor wealth. If buying continues in those counters, it can offer an exit point to small investor.
