BMW’s most powerful ‘XM Label Red’ SUV to arrive in final quarter of 2023
Munich, Bavaria-headquartered luxury vehicle manufacturer BMW has confirmed that the XM Label Red – the spruced up version of the XM SUV – will be launched sometime in the final quarter of 2023.
Scheduled to go on sale next year, the BMW XM Label Red claims to be the most powerful car ever produced by the German luxury automobile brand. Just last month, the luxury automobile brand officially unveiled the BMW XM, and the upcoming new trim is based on this very SUV. However, as mentioned above, the new trim is the most powerful version of the SUV. As per the manufacturer’s claims, the XM Label Red variant churns out 738 horsepower (hp) of peak power and 1,000 Nm of maximum torque, which is significantly more than the power and torque of the standard XM.
The powertrain of the Label Red variant features a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine bonded with a single electric motor (e-motor). In the standard trim of the vehicle, the same hybrid powertrain produces 644 hp and 800 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively.
The recently unveiled luxury performance SUV boasts a distinctive exterior appearance, thanks to its red rims around the front grille, the windows as well as on the wheels. Images revealed by the auto giant also show the vehicle with a red XM badge on the grille.
Some market experts are of the view that the upcoming SUV, which will be produced and sold in a limited number, will also get significant mechanical enhancements on the suspension and braking systems. BMW offers a choice of standard as well as spiced up Competition model, and the upcoming SUV testifies that. However, the company ditched the ‘Competition’ moniker for the upcoming SUV in favor of ‘Label Red’ moniker.
Unfortunately, the luxury automaker didn’t show a photo of the interior of the XM Label Red SUV, but we the company is expected to carry the red theme over inside also. There is a good chance that the eagerly-awaited vehicle will feature matching red upholstery.
The series production of the BMW XM Label Red will likely start in the fall of 2023, which means that the vehicle will likely hit in showroom as a 2024 model. Pricing details haven’t been revealed yet, but experts are of the view that it will be the brand’s most expensive car, with a starting price tag of around $185,000. More details on the BMW XM Label Red variant are expected to be released sometime in early next year.
