BHEL’s Vellore Plant Achieves Milestone Turnover of Rs 2,000 Cr In 2008-09
Power equipment manufacturer BHEL announced that its boiler auxiliaries facility had attained a record high turnover of Rs 2,000 crore during the last fiscal (2008-09).
During the fiscal, the company said that the profit before tax (PBT) stood at Rs 253 crore.
Moreover, its dispatches were up 30% at 1.9 lakh metric tonnes during the period under review.
The facility saw an increase of 26% in its growth rate, while it bagged orders worth Rs 3,700 crore during the fiscal.
The total outstanding order was worth about Rs 6,500 crore, the release said.
In exports, the income augmented by 40% to Rs 28 crore in 2008-09, as compared to the last year.
The value addition per employee also increased to Rs 19.79 lakh, showing an increase of 19 per cent Y-o-Y, the release said.
