BA to increase flight schedule to cover up strike

British-AirwaysTo cover up for a three-day strike by the cabin crew, British Airways announced on Wednesday that it is planning to increase number of flights as it has received consent from more staff who have volunteered to work.

Earlier the air carrier announced that it would be able to fly only 60 per cent customers during the strike period. However, considering the fact that the number of cabin crew, who volunteered to stand in during the strike, had grown by a good number since the last announcement, it was now anticipated that the revised estimations would show a higher percentage of customers being flown.

The BA statement added that the recent developments have allowed the company to reinstate few of the flights, which were cancelled earlier due to the strike, and also expand capacity on some of the flights traveling to both shorter destinations and longer destinations.

As per Willie Walsh, Chief Executive of the airlines, now the carrier not only would be able to fly over 4,000 more customers per day, but also could fly to more destinations. This certainly would be helpful for the company as customers are currently facing price rise in other airlines.
