Antony rules out Central govt. role in CBI giving clean chit to Jagdish Tytler
Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 3 : Senior Congress leader and Union Minister A. K. Antony on Friday ruled out the Central Government's role in the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) decision to close the probe against his party leader Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
"It is not the Central Government's decision. The report was given by the CBI," Antony told reporters at a meet-the-press programme here.
He, however, said that the Sikh community was naturally wounded.
"The Sikh community is naturally wounded. The 1984 incident was a tragedy. Their wounds are still there. So, they have a right to express their apprehension," he added. (ANI)
