HTC, a global leader in mobile phones and IDEA Cellular, India’s major telecom services provider, have jointly launched two new smartphones, named HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch Viva in the Indian market.

The phones were launched at an event held at Mumbai, India.

Aimed at business customers, the HTC Touch Pro T7276 is a mixture of rich functionalities and better technologies.

The Area-51® 750i desktop has been launched by Alienware, Dell's premier high-performance PC gaming brand. The system, that has been developed around its namesake NVIDIA nForce® 750i SLI® motherboard, provides a combination of performance and flexibility that would definitely appeal to a broad range of users.

San Francisco  - Worldwide sales of computer chips will fall by 5.6 per cent in 2009, the Semiconductor Industry Association forecast Wednesday.

It would be the first decline since the aftermath of the dot-com bust in 2001.

The trade group predicted 2009 chip sales worth 246.7 billion dollars, down from projected sales of 261.2 billion dollars this year, which would be a sales increase of 2.2 per cent from 2007.

Washington, November 19 : Scientists at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) have devised a cost-effective screen test that can speed up the rate of discovering cancer-related genes and validating their function in living animals.

The novel test resulting from a combination of five research groups’ expertise has been found to succeed in uncovering 13 new tumour suppressors, genes that inhibit the activity of cancer genes, in a preliminary study.

Given that cancer sufferers, specifically people with liver cancer, usually lack tumour suppressors, these discoveries “are a huge step forward in understanding the genetics of cancer and open up a host of new strategies to improve its diagnosis and treatment,” according to the authors.

Chip maker Intel has made announcement about the launching of its new family of Core i7 processors in the Indian market.

Intel made this announcement during a press event held in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Calling them the ‘most-advanced processors’ achieved with 45 nanometre silicon technology, Intel’s first quad-core solution for the desktop PC codenamed ‘Nehalem’, the i7 processors will enhance performance and increase data output.
