Tata Motors Sales Fell by 0.70% in the Month of June 2011Tata Motors declared that the sales of Tata vehicles had an overall decline by 0.70% for the month of June 2011. The total units sold in June were 66,358, which were negligibly low in comparison with the previous year’s unit sales recorded at 66,824.

The total passenger-vehicle sales recorded in June 2011 was 21,993 units, which had decreased by 20.91% from 27,911 units last year in June. The sales of the car Nano for the month was 5,451 units, down by 29%. The sale of Indica was recorded at 8,188 units, down by 9%in comparison to the units sold in June 2010. The 'Indigo' family recorded sales of 4,882 units, a decrease of 35% same month last year. Sales of 'Sumo', 'Safari' and 'Aria' fell by 4 % to 3,472 units.

In the commercial vehicle section, the sales recorded were 39,271 units in the domestic market showed an increase by 12.88% in comparison to the sales record of June 2011. Light commercial vehicles sales during the month stood at 23,197 units, showed a growth of 18%. The company's exports grew by 20.65% previous month to 5,094 units from 4,222 units in the same month in 2010. The shares of the company were marked by a fall of 0.2% at Rs 992 on NSE.
