Tata Motors reports a whopping 62% rise in global sales in November
Going by the official sales data recently revealed by the Tata Motors Group, the company’s global sales registered a whopping 62 percent year-on-year increase in November.
Tata Motors – which is engaged in the production and marketing of heavy, medium and light commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and utility vehicles – specified that its global sales comprise the sales of Tata’s passenger vehicles with brands in India and Jaguar and Land Rover; and the entire range of commercial vehicles of Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera.
While the November sales figures stood at 75775, collective sales for the April-November 2009 fiscal were 521059, marking a 4 percent year-on-year rise. The sales numbers of all commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles in November stood respectively at 33338, and 42,437 units – thereby indicating a respective 18 percent and 50 percent growth over last November figures.
A company statement said that the total vehicle sales in the domestic market witnessed an over 65 percent rise to 54,108 units in November, vis-à-vis the November 2008 figures. The sales of total passenger vehicle in the domestic market increased by almost 45 percent to 20,706 units, as compared to the same-month year-before figures of sale of 14,327 vehicles.
The exports for Tata Motors, which delivered 3,406 units of the Nano in November, witnessed a nearly 87 percent rise to 3,994 units, as against 2,140 units in the same month last year.
