Tata Motors' March global sales up one percentNew Delhi, April 15 : Indian automobile giant Tata Motors Group Friday reported a one percent increase in its global sales for March, which stood at 110,785 units, against the same period last year.

"Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 110,785 in March 2011, a growth of one percent over March 2010," the company said in a statement.

The company said that the cumulative global sales for last fiscal year grew by 24 percent at 1,081,245 as compared to the corresponding period in 2009-10.

According to the company, global sales of its commercial vehicles including Tata, Tata Daewoo, and Tata Hispano Carrocera range in March increased by 19 percent at 56,814 units, while the cumulative sales for the last fiscal grew by 24 percent in the segment with sales of 512,269 units.

The automobile giant also reported an increase of 24 percent in its global sales of passenger vehicles in fiscal 2010-11 which stood at 568,976 units.

"Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution off-take in India of Fiat cars were flat at 29,870 numbers, for the month. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 327,403 numbers, a growth of 23 percent," the statement said.

The statement added that the March sales of Jaguar-Land Rover cars grew by two percent at 24,101 vehicles, while Jaguar brand car sales fell by 19 percent at 3,772 units.

Meanwhile, the cumulative sales of Jaguar-Land Rover for the last fiscal grew by 25 percent with sales of 241,573 units, of which Jaguar sales grew by 12 percent at 52,993 units, whereas Land Rover sales jumped 29 percent with sales of 188,580 units. (IANS)
