Sun TV launches FM radio station at Vijayawada, Stock up 5%
Sun TV Network has announced that the company has launched a new FM radio station at Vijayawada, through its subsidiary Kal Radio. The programs will cater to the audience of all age groups and can be heard at 93.5 MHz frequency at Vijayawada, an official release said.
With the launch of this FM Station, the total operational FM Stations of the Company goes up to 17 as it already operates at Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Tirupati, Madurai, Tuticorin, Lucknow, Bhopal, Pondicherry, Kozhikode (Calicut) and Indore.
The Company holds licenses for 45 FM Radio Stations across India, and will be one of the largest radio broadcasters in India when all the remaining 28 stations become operational.
Kalanidhi Maran-promoted media group, Sun TV Network Limited was formerly known as Sun TV Limited. The Company's principal activity is to produce and broadcast satellite television and radio entertainment media in regional languages in South India.
It caters to the viewers in India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom United States and Australia. The Company is also into the business of FM radio broadcasting in Chennai, Coimbatore and Tirunelveli.
The firm presently holds market cap worth Rs. 15,861 crore, PE Ratio of 45.08 ; EPS of 8.93 and BV of 49.98. The firm had showed a net profit of Rs 80 crore for the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs. 48 crore in same quarter of last year.
At 1:15 PM, the share was trading at Rs 404 on NSE, up by 5% with previous close of Rs. 382. It touched an intraday high of Rs 408 and low of Rs 392.
