Son of Software Engineers Abducted in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Rohit Reddy, the three-and-a-half-year-old son of a software engineer couple, was abducted from Kondapur on Tuesday at 4.30 pm by three men when he was playing in the premises of Sanskruti Vidya Mandir, hardly 200 yards from his house. The kidnappers came there in a black Qualis. While one of them entered the school and made Rohit sit on the parapet wall and the other one picked the boy and put him in the Qualis and the gang flew.
After the abduction of Satyam’s senior employee, Vedula Satyanaraya, this is the second case affecting IT industry in the last two months. Mr. Vedula was later set free by the abductors.
Rohit’s father, G Ravinder Reddy is working with Cognizant Technologies, whilst his mother Lalasa is a software engineer with Satyam Computers.
The parents stated that the boy was running a temperature. His brokenhearted father was nervous for Rohit’s physical condition as the boy was prone to fits if medications were not administered at the expected time.
Police think money to be the reason for kidnapping. As both the parents work, there was no one at home at the time of the happening.
A spokesperson of Cognizant Technologies said, “It is a fact that one of our employees has registered a case with the police, stating that his child was missing. We are awaiting further information from the police. Our organisation will extend all help to our employee in this challenging situation.”
Rajendranagar assistant commissioner of police K Mahipal Reddy said police have alarmed all stations and control rooms.
