Peshawar, Apr 6: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on the Frontier Constabulary camp in Islamabad, and promised that they would carry out two suicide attacks per week unless the United States stops drone attacks in tribal areas.
“We claim responsibility for the Islamabad suicide attack. It was in retaliation for a drone attack in Orakzai,” said TTP commander Hakimullah, Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud’s deputy.
Khar, Apr 6 : The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Bajaur Agency has declared that the money provided by the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to women as "haram and un-Islamic".
The TTP also warned the women against getting the BISP support money or having Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) made.
Peshawar, Apr 6 : The girl who was reportedly flogged in Swat has denied the incident, and termed the happening as baseless and not based on facts due to social pressure and Taliban militants' fear.
A team of two high officials comprising Commissioner Malakand Syed Mohammad Javed and a senior judge reportedly visited Kala village situated in the far-off area of tehsil Kabal and recorded the statement of the girl.
New Delhi, Apr 5 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday said that India would welcome any effort by the international community which ensured that Pakistan fulfills its obligations to fight terrorism.
"As a responsible state, Pakistan should fulfill its obligations. Any effort by the international community to ensure that they fulfill their international obligations to fight against terrorism are welcome," Mukherjee told reporters here.
Islamabad - At least 22 people were killed and dozens more injured as an explosion ripped through a Shiite mosque Sunday in Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab, government officials said.
A suicide bomber blew himself up at the main entrance of the mosque in Chakwal district, some 90 kilometres south-west of capital Islamabad, when the security guards challenged him.
"At least 22 people are killed and more than 50 are injured, many of them critically," said provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah.
Karachi, Apr. 5 : Pakistan selectors have made it clear that players who have joined the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL), would not be considered for the national squad even if they terminate their contract with the league.
“We wanted clarifications on whether we could consider the ICL players who have made themselves available for national selection. But we have been told by the cricket board they can’t be considered at this stage,” The Dawn quoted one of the selector, as saying.
