Rawalpindi, Mar. 18: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has obtained the physical remand of three Mumbai attack suspects for two more days from the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here.
According to The Nation, the FIA had sought the remand of the accused following India’s response to Pakistan’s 30 questions over the 26/11 incident.
The FIA investigators told the court that the accused were to be interrogated in the light of answers provided by India.
Lahore, Mar. 18: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif has said that his party will work closely with Yousuf Raza Gilani to restore the powers of the prime minister.
“We have a parliamentary democracy in Pakistan and in a parliamentary democracy the prime minister runs the show. Musharraf changed the entire system. He took away all the powers of the PM and (gave them to) the president. We would like that to be changed now,” the Daily Times quoted Sharif, as saying.
Islamabad, Mar. 18 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has rejected reports that the government is planning to curtail the powers of the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry.
Gilani said: "Such negativism should be discouraged", while adding that by reinstating Chaudhry, the government had amicably resolved the national issue of the independence of judiciary "in accordance with Benazir Bhutto's vision and President Asif Zardari's promise".
Islamabad, Mar. 18 : The Pakistan Government has notified that all sacked judges of the Supreme Court and the high courts, including Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, will resume their earlier positions from March 22.
Addressing a press conference, Federal Law Secretary Agha Muhammad Rafique narrated two separate notifications from the Law and Justice Division announcing the move.

Washington, Mar. 18: The United States may expand its military operation beyond the ungoverned tribal areas of Pakistan, particularly in Baluchistan, where top Taliban operatives are reportedly hiding and initiating attacks on the allied forces in the southern Afghanistan.
