Lahore, Dec. 31 : The Jamhoori Watan Party chief, Talal Bugti has demanded Musharraf's arrest, so that the killers of his father, Akbar Bugti and the former Pakistan PM Benazir Bhutto, could be exposed.

Bugti said that he does not support the separatism and the movement of militancy, which started due to the policies of former President General Pervez Musharraf.

He also accused Musharraf for dividing Pakistan and bombing Balochistan with tanks and missiles.

He said the people of Balochistan were patriots, and his party's manifesto was that the Baloch people should control Baloch resources.

Lahore, Dec. 29: Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) has criticized the Pakistan government's move to take over its schools, by saying, if the government is unable to run its own institutions properly then how can it manage JuD schools?

"How will the government run these institutions when it is unable to run its own?" a JuD spokesperson said, referring to the dismal state of government's educational institutions.

The Punjab government had appointed special supervisors for JuD schools and dispensaries after the UN banned it, the Daily Times reported.

According to the paper, the Punjab government had decided not to shutdown charity organizations run by the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa, but monitor them.

Lahore, Dec 28: Pakistan's main opposition parties have said that the death of former premier Benazir Bhutto is an irreparable loss for the country.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif said Benazir spent her life struggling to turn Pakistan into a real democracy.

Lahore, Dec. 27 : Pakistani Government has taken over ten educational institutions supported by the banned outfit, Jamat-ud-Dawa, for promoting jihad in various parts of Punjab.

Sources quoted by The News have said that following a ban imposed on the JuD; intelligence agencies informed the government that ten of the educational institutions in various parts of Punjab were promoting extremism.

"Special lectures promoting Jihad are delivered to students especially at the time of assembly," sources quoting intelligence reports said.

There are total 26 Jamat-ud-Dawa run educational institutions in the Punjab province but the Government appointed administrators in only 10 selected schools.

Responsibility for Wednesday's car bomb attack in Lahore has been claimed by a pro-Taliban group called 'Ansar Wa Mohajir'. Pakistani authorities had arrested four alleged Indian nationals, whom they suspected to be involved in the bomb blast.

The News daily got a phone call from a man identifying himself as Toofan Wazir, the commander and spokesman of the group from somewhere in North Waziristan, to state that they were responsible for the blast in Lahore and earlier rocket attacks on Dera Ismail Khan City.

Lahore, Dec. 24 : Import from India to Pakistan has continued uninterrupted despite rising tension between the two nations after the Mumbai terror attacks last month.

A study conducted by The News has found no major impact on the inflow of goods from different routes from India to Pakistan. However, on the export side, downtrend has begun.

Pakistan mainly exports cement to India through rail and sea routes and its exports has sharply declined due to non-tariff barriers.
