Lahore, Feb. 28 : Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan has said that Test matches should be more result-oriented to lure spectators back to the classy version of the game.

Talking to reporters on the eve of the second and final Test match against Sri Lanka here, Khan said that the Gaddafi Stadium pitch will be a better playing track than the Karachi's `lifeless' strip where he piled on a triple century.

Lahore, Feb. 28 : Taking his fight with President Asif Ali Zardari a step further, former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) chief, Nawaz Sharif has said that he is still ready to mend ways with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), but unwilling to commit the "sin" of talking to Zardari.

"I am still ready to talk to Benazir's PPP. But I consider talking to Zardari the `biggest sin," The Nation quoted Sharif, as saying.

Lahore, Feb. 28 : Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif has warned President Asif Ali Zardari that he will have to face `dire consequences for his misdeeds', and that the chapter of his dictatorship was about to be closed forever.

"President Zardari could not face the PML-N lawfully, so he toppled our government in Punjab," the Daily Times quoted Sharif, as saying.

Lahore, Feb. 28 : The itinerary of the Australia-Pakistan one-day international series has been revised again.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the series, which is to be played at a neutral venue, United Arab Emirates (UAE), will be played from April 22 to May
7.

"Now the series will be played from April 22 to May 7 as we have pushed backed the date of the first match by two days," PCB chairman Ijaz Butt said.

Lahore, Feb. 27 : Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram has urged the women's cricket team to perform to their potential in the forthcoming ICC Women's World Cup.

"I want to see the Pakistan team go out there and give its best. It has nothing to lose as it is not amongst the top-ranked teams. This should lessen the pressure on the players and when you have nothing to lose and nothing to fear, you tend to give up your best," Akram said.

Expressing his happiness over the women's team qualification for playing in the World Cup, he said that the team has the talent to match the best teams in the world.

Lahore, Feb. 27 : Fearing large scale protests by the Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML-N) activists against Supreme Court's verdict to disqualify the Sharif brothers', the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stepped-up security arrangements for the touring Sri Lankan cricket team.

The Nation reports that the security of Sri Lanka team has been intensified after the Lankan management expressed its concern over the political crisis.
