Sudan's President al-Bashir to attend Africa summit in Istanbul Istanbul  - Sudan's President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir has left for an African summit meeting in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Monday despite a threatened warrant for his arrest in relation to actions by his government in the Darfur region of Sudan, Turkish media reported.

The summit to take place starting Tuesday is also to be attended by various African heads of state and government along with Turkish representatives to discuss widening of cooperation.

The attacker first smashed a window of the mosque and then launched the hand grenades, the report said.

The mosque is predominantly used by Wahabbis, a particularly strict Sunni version of Islam which is state religion in Saudi Arabia but did not use to be widespread in Azerbaijan in the past.

Stone Age skeletons uncovered during tube tunnel excavations in IstanbulIstanbul, August 12 : Skeletons of Stone Age humans, more than 8,000 years old, have been unearthed during tube tunnel excavations in Istanbul, Turkey, which shed light on prehistoric periods of the city.

According to a report in Turkish Daily News, the skeletons were found in four prehistoric graves recently unearthed at the Marmaray tunnel excavation site in the Yenikapý district of Istanbul.
