Nine Turkish police officers hurt in suicide bomb attack in Mersin
Istanbul - A suicide car bomber injured nine Turkish police officers, one of them seriously, when he blew himself up in the southern coastal city of Mersin after a car chase on Tuesday, television reports said.
The police had been alerted and attempted to prevent the pending attack by stopping the car.
The television reports showed footage of the burning remnants of the car on a freeway in the city.
Local police said it was not clear who was behind the attack. (dpa)
