Last Horch found in Texas, returns home to Germany

Ingolstadt, Germany - The last one-off specimen of a 1953 Horch is currently being restored at the Audi museum in Ingolstadt after its discovery in Texas earlier this year.

The car was exhibited in unrestored condition at the Audi museum in July and August this year with its velvet seats slashed open, battered door trims and rusty exterior.

Built by hand for the last man at the helm of Auto Union, Dr Richard Bruhn, the chauffeur-driven limousine was based on a 1938 Horch 830 BL.

Audi revamps sporty S4 top modelsIngolstadt, Germany - Audi has revamped its top of the range S4 and S4 Avant, giving it a more athletic look and a completely redesigned V6 engine which offers improved performance and efficiency.

First shown to the public at this month's Paris Motor Show, the three-litre V6 with direct fuel injection and mechanical turbocharging, delivers 245 kW/333 hp.

Acceleration of the sedan from zero to 100 km/h is listed at 5.1 seconds with an average fuel consumption of 9.7 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres. The top speed is electronically regulated at 250 km/h.

Audi upgrades luxury class A6Ingolstadt, Germany - Audi has announced an upgrade of its luxury A6 class that will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show prior to the complete makeover scheduled for 2011.

The most visible change to the front are the modified headlamps with LED daylight running lights, restyled single-frame grille, bumpers and air vents.

Slight modifications have also been made to the rear taillights of both the station wagon and sedan. Efficient engines have been added to the drive-train line-up, cutting fuel consumption by about 15 per cent across the whole model range.

Audi working on "green" traffic control of the future

Ingolstadt, Germany - Audi is working on a "green" traffic management system of the future that will make it possible to drive in a city without having to stop at traffic lights.

After two years of research, the car maker announced the pilot project in cooperation with the city of Ingolstadt and the department of traffic engineering at the Technical University of Munich.

The system has already been implemented at 46 traffic lights in Ingolstadt. Software optimizes the entire network of traffic lights, significantly reducing the duration of stopping times for cars.
