Hosur is a town and a municipality in Krishnagiri district here. But consequent to heavy load shedding, the small, medium and even large scale units have felt compelled to lay off their workforce.

Blast accused Peerbhoy wants to turn approver

Mumbai, Oct 27: Mohammed Mansoor Peerbhoy, who was arrested by Mumbai police Crime Branch for his alleged involvement in the Indian Mujhaideen plot, especially the Terror emails, has filed an application before the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court seeking to turn approver in the case.

According to the police Peerbhoy, who worked with a multinational software company in Pune and was earning an annual salary of Rs
19 lakh, was responsible for hacking unsecured Wi-Fi networks in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai and sending emails to news channels minutes before the July 26 Ahmedabad blasts and the September 13 Delhi explosions.

Sensex plunges below 8,000 mark for first time in three yearsMumbai, Oct 27: Indian stock markets crashed on Monday, with the benchmark Sensex plunging below the psychological 8,000 level in afternoon trading.

Tracking weak global trend, the benchmark Sensex lost over 750 points to hit an over three-year low of 7,939 in afternoon trade on fresh selling by funds.

At 12:52 p. m., the 30-share index, which fell by nearly 2,000 points in the past three sessions, slid by another 762.05 points or 8.76 percent at 7,939.02, a level last seen on November 2, 2005.

Bihar all-party delegation to meet Manmohan Singh on MNS activities

New Delhi, Oct 27: An all-party delegation headed by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh here today to submit a joint memorandum demanding action against the "divisive forces" that attacked railway job aspirants from Bihar in Mumbai.

A delegation comprising Union Ministers, Parliamentarians and leaders of various political parties in Bihar will meet Dr. Singh at five p. m. today.

An all-party meeting on October 23 had expressed anguish over the attack on north Indian examinees by activists of Raj Thackeray''s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

They unanimously decided to submit a joint memorandum to Dr. Singh in this regard.
