Manipur fruit processing plant adds to income of several families

Manipur, ImphalImphal, Nov. 21 : A fruit processing plant, established in militancy affected Manipur, has added to the income of many families in the State.

Founded by L. Dikho Mao, the Exotic Juices Limited, which is the biggest fruit processing plant in north-east region, has today changed the fate of many people here.

People in the region have started systematic cultivation of fruits in the region. A non-governmental organization ‘Good Samaritan Social Service Association’, established in 1990, has been playing a pioneering role.

Protest against the highhandedness of militants in Manipur

While condemning militancy, the participants in the rally appealed to the government to take tough measures against such elements and restore peace in the state.

Unclaimed Bag Containing Rs 35,000 Found In ImphalA handbag containing Rs 35,000 together with a bank passbook has been found this morning, by a mobile team of the 4th IRB posted at Thenggu Chingjin of Koirenggei led by Jemandar Dikambou.

The team found the blue colour bag lying at Diamond Gali in Imphal’s Paona bazaar around 10.30 am today.
 
After checking the bag thoroughly the IRB group showed the bag to reporters and announced that the real owner could produce suitable proof that the money belongs to him and collect the money.

Manipuris celebrate Kut 2008

Participating in the 19th edition of the championship, which commenced here on Wednesday (Nov. 5), the Manipur’s defending champion teams of men and women carried on the winning streak with straight victory over Delhi at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium in their inaugural matches.
