Satyam corporate fraud shocks India

Hyderabad/Mumbai, Jan 9 : The recent corporate fraud of inflated profits of Satyam Computer, the country''s fourth-largest software company, has shocked investors in India.

Newspapers across the country on Friday carried the headlines screaming for the authorities to take action against the corporate fraud in order to reinstate the investor confidence.

Satyam employees shuffled into its Hyderabad office refusing to comment on anything. But employees of the software companies in Hyderabad said that the truth needed to come out soon so that air could be cleared.

Central Government orders inspection of eight Satyam subsidiaries

SatyamNew Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan. 8 : The Central Government on Thursday ordered a probe into the books of accounts of eight subsidiaries of Satyam Computer Services, a day after the company''s former chairman and managing director, B Ramalinga Raju, admitted that the company had forged accounts.

The inspection would be conducted as per the provisions of Section 209A of the Companies Act, Corporate Affairs Minister Prem Chand Gupta told reporters on Thursday.

Maytas Infra receives Rs 110 crore project from Southern Railways  Hyderabad-based Maytas Infra Private Limited (MIPL), has announced that it has secured a project worth Rs 110 crore from the Southern Railways.

The company has received the said project in consortium with Chennai-based CT Ramanathan and Co. According to sources, the project has been awarded for doubling broad railway track between Chengalpattu and Villupuram in Tamil Nadu.

Another Nagarjuna Finance Director held on fraud charges Hydrabad City Police arrested G S Raju, Director of Nagarjuna Finance Ltd (NFL), on Sunday, under charges of cheating depositors, thus taking the number of arrested persons to three.

Raju was detained by the Immigration Officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, while he was boarding a flight to the US.

He was brought to Hydrabad and produced before a court today which remanded him to 14-day judicial custody.

IVRCL Infra bags order worth Rs 260.46 crore

IVRCL Infra bags order worth Rs 260.46 croreHyderabad-based company IVRCL Infrastructures & Projects Ltd has informed that the Buildings & Industrial Structures (B & IS) and Water Divisions of the Company have jointly bagged orders worth Rs 260.46 Crores.

Further, IVRCL quoted in a press release that company’s B&IS Division has picked first order worth Rs 92.51 crore from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation for the construction of two elevated metro station viz CMH Road and Byappanahalli Station in Reach-I. The project is scheduled to be completed in 22 months.
