Tirupati Airport declared an International Airport

Andhra PradeshNew Delhi, Oct. 8 : The Government today declared the existing domestic airport at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh as an International Airport.

There has been a persistent demand from public representatives for declaring the domestic airport at Tirupati an international airport, as it is a prominent place of pilgrimage, receiving around
60,000 pilgrims every day.

IVRCL Infra wins order worth Rs 499 croreIVRCL Infrastructures & Projects Limited (IVRCL) has informed that it has secured the lift irrigation project, from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Irrigation & CAD Department.

The project is valued at Rs 499.23 crore.

Under the arrangement, the company would execute Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, which includes investigation, designs, with allied works lifting of 4.50 TMC of water from Godavari River near Kannepally (V) of Kaleshwaram, Mahadevpur (M), Karimnagar District. The project is expected to be completed in 48 months.

L&T secures order worth Rs 552 crore from PBEL

L&T secures order worth Rs 552 crore from PBELLarsen & Toubro (L&T), the infrastructure major, has secured a Rs 552-crore order from PBEL, an Indo-Israeli joint venture real-estate developer, for the construction of PBEL City in Andhra Pradesh.

The PBEL City, which is coming up near the AP Police Academy, would have 13 residential and two commercial towers, each having 19 storeys, with 12 flats on each storey. 

L&T plans to deploy latest technologies to build the structures quickly and at a lesser cost. The total value of the project on completion of work was estimated at Rs 1,100.

Indian Navy takes up the task of cleaning beaches in VizagVizag (Andhra Pradesh), Sept 20 : The Indian Navy took up an intensive cleaning drive at the Vizag beach in Andhra Pradesh to mark the World Beach cleaning day on Saturday.

The drive aimed to spread awareness about the rising pollution level, witnessed active participation of almost 1200 people. Apart from the naval officials the participants included students, and family members of the naval officials.

A 21-kilometer long stretch between the Yarrada beach to Rishikonda beach was cleaned up under this campaign.
