Air Force Passing out Parade in Hyderabad

Indian Air Force LogoHyderabad, Dec 20 : Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted a Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) here today for its cadets who have successfully completed their basic and professional training.

A total of 97 cadets from all branches of the IAF were awarded the President''s commission by Chief of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal F. H. Major, upon passing out after completion of their training in flying, navigation and ground duty.

The cadets underwent training at Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, AFAC, Coimbatore, Air Defence College, Lucknow and Air Force stations at Hakimpet, Yelhanka and Begumpet.

Dabhol plant to get gas at priority basis

Dabhol plant to get gas at priority basisThe Dabhol power plant in Maharashtra would get gas from Krishna-Godavari (K-G) basin on a priority basis. K-G basin is being developed by Reliance Industries in Andhra Pradesh. RIL is directed by the union petroleum ministry to sell gas at $4.2 per million British thermal unit (mBtu) after the judgment of the court. It also asked RIL to supply gas to some fertilizer plants.
 

AP assembly passes FRBM bill

Andhra Pradesh Assembly has passed Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management bill 2008 through a voice vote on Wednesday. The bill is aimed to minimize the effect of global slowdown by enabling the state to get additional borrowings for higher capital expenditure during this year.

The finance minister of AP said that government is facing shortage of funds to support welfare programs for poor. State has an option to generate revenue through land sale but required revenue can not be generated as property rates are declining following global slowdown.

15 injured as train derails

Andhra PradeshAt least 15 passengers were injured when 14 bogies of a train derailed in the early hours of Thursday in Andhra Pradesh.

Patna bound Ernakulam-Patna passenger train has derailed at Baruva near Sompeta in Andhra Pradesh in wee hours on Thursday.

The injured were being treated in local hospitals at Sompeta and Polasa in Andhra Pradesh.

According to an eye witness, two bogies of the train had derailed from the track near Baruva, 2km away from Sopmeta station (AP) and 30 km away from Berhampur station, at around 12.40 am on Thursday.

HIV Patients To Receive Pensions In Andhra Soon  In a landmark decision, the state government has decided to give pension to nearly 43,000 HIV patients in Andhra Pradesh.

Giving this information on the eve of World AIDS Day, State Family Welfare Minister Sambhani Chandrasekhar said that the government is preparing a blueprint for treating the HIV patients at various Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) centres across the state.

CID Website Hacked

CID Website Hacked Even as India and Pakistan renew efforts to resolve contentious issues through dialogue, it seems that a virtual war is going on between the two countries in cyberspace.

The latest news is that the official website of the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has been hacked by pro-Pakistan hackers.

It is believed that the hacker who claimed himself to be Pakistani, also fiddled with website of a news channel and that of Bank Of Baroda. However, when accessed in the last evening, both these websites were found to be in the working condition.
