Lahore, Apr. 16: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani on Wednesday said that the issue of judges and the future of President Musharraf will be decided in line with the Constitution.
Talking to the media in Lahore today after inaugurating a SAARC Chamber seminar, Gillani said all vital national issues would be decided in accordance with the law.
Glilani said that a democratic and parliamentary procedure would be adopted for restoration of the deposed judges.
Islamabad, Apr 3: Following criticism of the 5-year ban on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar from different quarters of the Pakistani society, the country’s Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani is learnt to have taken a notice of the PCB’s action and issued directives to the PCB to revise the decision, the sources added.
Yesterday, angry supporters of Shoaib Akhtar held a demonstration in Rawalpindi against the ban.
Islamabad, Apr 1 : The Ahmedzai Wazir tribes of Waziristan have opposed the removal of the controversial Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) from the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) announced by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani on Saturday.
“A jirga of the Ahmedzai Wazir has decided to oppose any attempt to abolish the FCR in the absence of a pre-arranged alternative system, which should be no less than Shariah,” tribal elder Malik Behram Khan told the Daily Times by phone from WANA.
