Pakistani skipper Younis Khan's maiden triple ton against Sri Lanka in the drawn Test at Karachi moved him six places ahead to take the number one position in the latest ICC player rankings for Test batsmen released here.

Dubai, Feb 26 : Pakistan skipper Younus Khan has jumped six places to overtake S. Chanderpaul at the top of the ICC Test Player Rankings.

A triple-century from Pakistan's new captain Younus Khan has earned him six places and put him on top of the Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings for Test batsmen for the first time in his career.

Karachi, Feb. 14: New Pakistan skipper Younis Khan is confident about his team's performance in the upcoming test series against Sri Lanka starting from February 21.

"We are well equipped and prepared to perform under all kinds of conditions," The News quoted Khan, as saying.

Khan believes that playing on the home ground would give Pakistan an edge over the visitors.

"We need the backing of the nation and the media and we are capable of delivering for the country," he added.

Karachi, Feb 6 : New Pakistan captain Younis Khan wants his players to forget the bitter memories of an embarrassing 234-run loss at the hands of Sri Lanka in a one day international and instead focus on the Test series that gets underway in Karachi from February 21.

"It was just a bad day. We should forget all about it and concentrate on the Test series," Younis told reporters at the inauguration ceremony of the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) here on Thursday

Karachi, Jan. 29 : The change in leadership of the Pakistan's cricket team has been welcomed by former stalwarts of the game in the country.

Veteran Pakistan cricket players are of the view that handing over the captaincy to Younis Khan could revive the sagging fortunes of the national squad.

According to Inzamam-ul-Haq, one of the most successful captains of the Pakistan team said that the frequent changes in the team set-up is hampering the growth and the performance.

He hoped that Younis Khan would lead the side well and help Pakistan to regain the top spot in the World Cricket.
