Money woes prevent Pak exhibitors from obtaining SRK’s new film’s rights

Islamabad, Dec 14 : Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan's fans in Pakistan are in for a disappointment, as exhibitors and distributor in the country have not obtained screening rights for his latest film `Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' owning to lack of funds.

The film, starring SRK and a newcomer, was to be simultaneously released in India and Pakistan. However, the Pakistani film exhibitors and distributor were unable to obtain the rights.

Generally, the cost to gain the rights to exhibit an Indian movie is around Rs 7 million, which is earned back by the movie distributor and exhibitors within the first week, reports the Daily Times.

The channel revealed that the film was scheduled to release on December 13 in Pakistan, but the company decided to postpone the release, reports the Daily Times.
